Hi All
Have a situation ...... i use a company to haul my boat to my house.......I've used them many times in general very nice guy this go around when he brought my boat to house the conditions of the ground (grass) was wet and slippery lets say his name is Jim couldn't get it where it was going due to the fact the boat was sinking into the grass not his fault....ok long story short both times "Jim" was trying was really nasty and a bit of a wise guy kind of was pissed at me for where it was going and made me feel like a idiot.. i was cool about this cause i was at his mercy....He was able to plop it half way up where it was suppose to go....Not happy about him or his attitude..i know it could be frustrating but to be a wise ass is not tolerated...
So im looking for someone who can move my boat about 10 feet when the ground conditions get better...Thanks for your help

A towing company ? A good one can be resourceful when it comes to moving stuff. Sounds like you need someone resourceful to move it without backing a truck up to it (tire ruts)and hooking on to the ball. It can be done with the right equipment.

I have used Svensson numerous times to transport both my 40ft and 21ft boat. They also transported my 40ft boat to and from Florida.
Extremely professional!

Mike,
I would be concerned if ground is that soft. At ayc we had a wind storm with lot of rain once and boats on stand on the grass sunk in and blew over when stand weakened in the mud.i think you don't use stands but you still need to be concerned if its too soft.

Dave yea it is a concern of mine last year was no problem as far as being too soft..I really have no Choice at this point...The guy I used was a dick he came at 5pm was reprimanding his kid who was helping him and like I said was a wise ass to me. Like it’s my fault the line of communication between us wasn’t good... If he would have taken the time to call me the day before knowing the situation and explained what he wanted I would of had it here for him... Very un professional..So now I need it to be moved about 10 feet ill be dammed if I call him ever again..
 
How do you feel about bluestone that spot? Just a idea. Probably be fine once ground gets cold and hard.
 
or a couple of inches of Recycled Concrete Aggregate (RCA)...if its really wet you should put a couple few inches of RCA down and then finish with bluestone. Depending on how you want it to look...I would also put pads under the stands if you are using them.
 
I have to join the group recommending Svensenn's. They moved our 33' Cruisers from Huntington Harbor to Eastport; very professional and skillful. When I discovered that the hailer horn had been broken by a tree branch during the move, they not only replaced it, but sent a technician out to do the job and to reinforce the base with a piece of starboard. They go beyond the required and back their work. Number one in my book. Hy
 
Not sure if Bob Kotch is still in the business but depending on what I do for 2013 (Ancohorage or yard slip), I may call to price out haul to my yard....
He was always good with timing and help....I'll post his number after I speak to him. Used him for years.
 
+1 for svensson's. i've used them for several years and they're great. they're on-time, professional, and they take care of everything. i had a problem with tires sinking last year (haulout was right after a rain storm and the ground was very wet). when i called in the spring, they reminded me to have some long plywood sheets on hand to protect the lawn. worked great.
 
So to hi-jack a little, I have a 31' Express with twin in boards. I think I may want to keep at my house after the 2013 season. It would only be about a 5 mile haul from venetian or closest ramp to my house......in the old days, I had all boats done this way and blocked in the drive and/or yard.

With in boards, can they still pull from a ramp or am I going to have to pay for a haul out first?

I'm assuming I can use the ramps, second question would be does anyone have an average cost for their haul?
 
I pay $10 a foot to have it hauled and blocked at my house. Another $10 a foot to reverse th process.
 
A big second for Hippie Chic. He's great, good at what he does, prices are fair, honest and a nice guy.
 
We used Hippie Chic to move a boat from the north shore and launch on the south. They were great.
