Lucayan Canal

So we came around Abaco and stayed over nite at Great Sale. All along the way from Great Sale to Dover Sound we saw smoke rising. I thought it was a dump burning but that was not to be.
It was brush along the canal!

The photos don't do it justice. So we waited for a wind shift and blew by it. We probably put out some of the fire with the wake.

Kinda tight in there to run 16k in Freedom!

What is the current condition of the North end of the Waterway?

A week after this post we drove up there with a car and the fire was out. In the canal we hit depths of about 5 feet. It's tight and narrow in the channel leading to the canal. I have all the GPS tracks in google earth format at danmapes.blogspot.com.
