Capt Bill1,

There is a similar spot close by with a couple of mooring bouys on it that never seems to have any crowds, or on the day we were there any boats at all. You might take a look at it.

Can you be more descriptive of where this smaller mooring is? Relative to looking straight into the Rocks, Port or starboard?

thanks

Jim

It's to the right on one of the next small islands over as I recall.
If I can pull up a chart I'll see if I can get you a name and/or better location description.

Better yet, let me give my friend a call who runs day charters down there that I was with that day and get the info from him.
I'll get back to you on this.

Well yesterday and Saturday... had the entire Cape Lookout Bight to ourselves. Beach combed for four hours and did not see another soul.. y'know it ain't all bad here every now and then..

If you are facing "The Baths" from the water it is the island to your right or south. I believe it is called "Fallen Jerusalem".

Capt. Bill1,

Thanks, I'm headed there this weekend. Renting a 43' power Cat with three other couples. Looking forward to whole experience.

I'll post pics upon my return.

John, it was from the patio of the villa overlooking Coral Bay we stayed at in St. John last week.

Did you get out in a boat while you were there?

Unfortunatly the only boat ride was the ferry to and from St. John from St. Thomas.

If you go next year and want to get out let me know. A good friend of mine owns "Lion in Da Sun" charters on St.John. (Google it) I'd be glad to hook you up.

Thanks Capt Bill, if I go back, I'll take you up on that offer!

Thanks Mike, thought it looked like the Virgin Islands but couldn't quite place it. When we did a bareboat charter a couple years back we were moored at Maho Bay and hiked a trail that had beautiful views of Coral Bay. I think we ended up somewhere on one of the peaks to the right in your picture.

Capt Bill, you know Rick? I've known him for 4 years, he's one of the best charter boat capt's I've seen. great guy, just saw him back in Jan and the business is doing great!
