To ensure we all have a Great Mothers Day, I spoke to Zues, supreme god and ruler of Olympus. He was known by many titles: Lord of the Sky, the Cloud- gatherer, the Rain-god and Zeus the Thunderer, all of which show which force of nature was considered to be the most important in Ancient World - rain. In most other mythologies the "ruler-god" was usually associated with the sun, but in Greece the climate is hot and dry making rain the scarce, life-giving force..... In a stern voice I stated to Zues that no rain shall be put forth on this great day. He turned and gazed upon my mortal soul, and uttered this word....OK!

Works for me!

May 7 Tomorrow
Sunny, along with a few afternoon clouds. High around 70F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.
May 7 Tomorrow night
Partly cloudy skies early followed by mostly cloudy skies and a few showers later at night. Low 56F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 30%.

May 8 Saturday
A few thunderstorms possible. Highs in the mid 70s and lows in the mid 40s.

May 9 Sunday
Windy with times of sun and clouds. Highs in the low 60s and lows in the low 40s.

Bob can you speak to my wife God of me and see if I will be aloud to go to the boat on mothers day?

Why don't you suprise her and take her out on the boat? Your looking at it the wrong way.

MJK

Dave, you should try being "aquiet" on the boat...

With your new swim platform on, and you will not be on your boat, bummer. My wife could not wait to get up on the boat.

Looks like we could all use a lesson in "gramma".

Happy Mother's Day to all the loving Mothers who allow the rest of us to enjoy boating.

How will he "become the boat"??

If I keep eating I can see becoming a house why no a boat. We went to the boat last night today tomorrow maybe in to afternoon if I'm lucky.

I is nasty out today boats are blowing all over the place. I installed a satellite dish on the dock and it was blowing all over aiming was a PIA it kept moving on me. That and a bad coupler can drive you to drink.

Dave just install a KVH M-1 or M-3 we are swinging and jerking like mad at the dock but my KVHM-3 is holding the Direct TV just fine. We have been here since Thursday. Today we can see the smoke from the fires in the Pinelands. I sure wouldn't want to go out in this wind. We had some gusts that hit 40 knots today. At one point it was so bad I couldn't close my rear sliding door due to the wind pressure directly against the glass and frame.
Glad to hear you got the boat in the water.
Bill

Bill at some point I will add a KVH unit but this year other project seemed more importan.
Thank you I an real glad I good in the water also now if only the weather was nice I could go for a ride.

I got my M-3 working Friday night. Spent our first night on the boat and all day Sat. Kids were watching TV the whole time. It worked like a champ.

Now, the tree the fell on my shed ... that's another story.

Correction "be on the boat". but yes one can become the boat. It is and old ancient Chinese secrect. Kind of like the "ZEN" within you.

See the boat...Feel the boat....Be the boat.... Become the boat....

Mike you don't know anything.....

How about doing something about this wind, Mr. Weather Guy?

Either the KVH M1 or M3 are great units the best thing since sliced bread in my opinion. No messing around with anything I throw the breaker it aquires the Sat and our unit works well in all but extremely heavy rain. I like that the unit runs off of 12VDC and draws little current.
Mike I'm with you the weather is a real problem and keeping us at the dock. Now I wish we would have at least gone out on Thursday or Friday before this blow from the west started.
Bill

I went out Friday, over to the pump-out and back!

I Guess you have never usede the Sea-King. I think this is even better. No need to use a proprietary 12v sat reciever at least when I installed mine 3 years ago. We use the direct TV HD-DVR units on the boat and at home, and I can use my mobile phone or pc to record a show on the boat if I forgot. A very nice feature.

OK, back to the topic... It is friggen cold up here...

That's an under statement and what was with the tides today I heard we were all on the bottom today in fact one boat on D dock had to cut a line because it was pulled so tight by the tide he couldn't untie it and he was afraid of pulling out a cleat. apparently the dock hit bottom before the boat and the line was trying to hold the weight of the boat.

With the way the wind and waves were today, that can't be a good thing Dave.

Problem with diesels is that you can't 'clean out' your space, with diesels, the cleats on the docks with rip out.....

Ok, we give Bob one more chance, so far he's 1 for 3, not a good ERA......with that, I hope everyone had a great Mothers Day, we did.

I tie extra lines and blow out my slip haven't had a problem. I don't goose the motors but when I put the in gear you can see the silt flow out to the wall I only do this on an out going tide with hopes the it takes the mud with it. I need to do this again it's been the better part of a year.

That's great... So you are blowing the silt and mud right into the fairway of the marina, IMHO that is not the best idea... your dock mates must love that...
