Macy's fireworks

Is anyone going to the fireworks in NYC this year for the 4th?

I would love to go, if i'm ready. What should I expect as far as where to drop anchor, and how crazy will it be?

great question. we are thinking of making the same trip, but aren't sure what to expect. A friend of ours has a slip in north hoboken, and we weren't sure if we should just hang out there.

Until I moved to Florida I went every year. I was even quoted in Boating magazine.
Go early to get a good anchoring spot.I used to get there by 4 and leave late. Let everybody go.It is much calmer than when I first started going. The coast guard is much stricter which is good.
There are no fireworks that can compare. The show is amazing. I'm jealous!

Where would you anchor?

if my boat is fix by then i am cosidering going with the family. the trip from and back to alpine should not take that long.

Right by the cola sign! Get early and ask the coast guard how far up you can go.
