Another 18" Sunday in to Monday? Picked a hell of a year to cheap out on shrink wrap....however, it is nice to finish sweeping off the canvas and go below with the space heater, a beer and a John Wayne flick....but even that's getting old....

This is the first year I have done shrink wrap. Damn happy I did. Between snow and ice storms it would have been brutal on the canvas. I do plan on spending Saturday at the boat though.. hopefully.

I went to the marina yesterday to tape on a replacement door in the shrinkwrap. It was so cold the tape wouldn't hold! I figured I'd come back tomorrow, Friday. Yeah, right! It's supposed to be even colder. Maybe Monday? Nope, 10+ inches of snow due, again. Will whoever has been praying for snow, please stop. We've all had more than enough. Hy

What a winter. I don't shrink wrap but I have built a good support system under my canvas winter cover using a ridge beam and fiberglass cross bows, kind of like a convertible top. I took advantage of the 50* temps last weekend to shovel off the more than 8" of snow on it so I could open up the cover air it out and make sure all the supports were in the right place. Buttoned it up after charging the batteries and sprayed it with 2 coats of water proofing spray. I knew then we'd get more snow and sure enough, here it comes.

My wife wants to go out to Greenport today to look through the galleries; she checked online that they're open! Oh well, at least we can have lunch by the water. Hopefully, Scrimshaw is open; great food. The weather projection for next week is for low temperatures. What a season! Hy

Anyone looking for something to do today, today is the Kings Park St. Pattys day parade at noon.
It's a pretty good parade. Should be 35 with no wind at noon, so won't be bad.
I will be near the start on Pulaski Road and Lou Ave with Gizmo.

Come on down!

They do it first Saturday in March because a lot of them March in other parades and the city parade.
Was a nice day after all.

You want a Parade, the Big Easy is 77 degrees and partly cloudy. You want Parades? Iris rolled at 1100 Uptown, Tucks rolled at 1200 Uptown route, Krewe of Endymion rolls at 1630 on the Mid City route. Just to keep it boat related the Krewe of Salt Bayou cruises at 1400 starting at the East Division Canal, Slidell.
