Not much more to add. Every Sunday we can look out the stern of our boat and see numerous people out on the sandbar on seven mile slough being baptized. There is approximately 60 ft dropoff not to far from the sandbar. It is so crazy to go out into the water when you don't have a pfd on and don't know the depths of the water you are in. Plain crazy!
I've seen some news reports that state this man drowned during a baptism ceremony. Other accounts have clarified the matter. The unfortunate drowning happened near a baptism going on at Brannan Island State Park.
That first report made no sense at all. Everyone knows that in a baptism you dip the person's head briefly underwater. Not hold it down until the person drowns.
You would think that those who print this garbage without knowing the facts would use common sense before they report.
