It's (almost) that time of year again. Anyone going out for the 4th? We're already there - got there last Saturday to make sure we got 'our' spot and got anchored securely. we'll be out there on the weekends (our friend, who's retired, is rafted up with us and keeping an eye on things) and for an extended weekend over the holiday.

If you're out there and passing by give us a shout on 68 or stop by for a beverage. My boat is Misty Flow, and my friends' boat is Camelot II.

Hope to hear from you folks and maybe meet a few too!

I will probably cruise through to see the show---not the fireworks---sometime during that weekend. If I do, I'll give you a holler. Maybe we can finally actually meet!!!!!

Hi Steve,

First things first tell Bonnie the veggie lasange was great. It was so good and how wonderful she is to make it when you two weren't coming to the event. It was a fun party, GREAT band.

We are coming out to Mandeville on Saturday, June 27. I'm sure we will come and see you two and Terry. Please stop by and see us. I am hoping we will be near the shore this year.

Carolyn

Hi Carolyn, glad everyone enjoyed the lasange - it's alwasy a hit with me! Glad everyone had a great time. We had planned on being there, but I forgot that was the weekend we were going to Mandeville (for some reason I thought we were going next week).

We're in almost exactly the same spot as we were last year, so we'll be easy to find! If there's any room left by us on the 27th you're welcome to join in!

We have the Castaway gang rafting behind in one of the Bedroome - a bit calmer and we can run around the corner in the dinks. I hope the wind is less this year! Should be fun. Where exactly are you going to be - it's a big area. I will probably have my little SeaDoo Explorer - its a jet ski in the middle of an inflatable - easy to spot so yell if you see me!
Jim

We're almost directly across from the lodge, tied up to a piling and some trees on shore (we want to be secure in that current!). We have a 33' Carver and a 40' Bayliner Bodega.

Hope to see you there!

The piling is a great idea - last year our anchor pulled in the wind and it was not a good thing! We will visit in the dink, and then go back to the quiet side of the place! Get your water squirter equipment ready!

Wow - great weekend (except for some problems with my friends' ski boat)! A few more boats came in this weekend, but I really think it was a little more 'crowded' last year at this time. I think next weekend will be the one for a lot of folks to come in. It's supposed to be really hot next weekend, too, so I'm glad we got set up while it was cool!

Hi Steve,

Are you near the Christophers? We are coming on Saturday (plans alwasy subject to change)

Carolyn

Hi Carolyn,

The Christophers aren't out there yet, but I think they're coming on Wednesday. We saw them yesterday - they came out in their ski boat to check things out. They're planning on rafting on my port side, assuming the other folks haven't filled in the gaps before then! We may be filled in beside my boat and Terry's boat by Saturday, though, but you never know. I know a few boats are coming today through Wednesday and I expect next weekend tons of people will be coming in.

Glad you got a nice spot, saw your boats. I took our three boats out allready because Im very tired of the ropeing off of areas. Been going out for over 15 years and its getting worse. If your gonna go out, go early.

We're planning on heading out on Thursday, July 2nd. We normally have a large raft of boats with American flags in just a bit deeper than the cut, but I've been out of town and haven't talked to anybody yet this year. Hopefully we'll see a few of you out there. If you see us on Wanderlust, a 48' aft cabin Californian, stop by and say Hi.

Hi,

So is there still some room along the shore? Red and Betty are going out tomorrow and will want to save space for Special Liberty, About Time and our boat. So looking forward to getting out there to relax. Do you or Terry need anything?

Carolyn

Any suggestions for where to attempt to anchor for boats arriving on the 4th?

Eric

Arriving on the 4th is difficult because most of the shallower spots for anchoring are gone and it can be difficult to find a space big enough to get the proper scope. The best plan is to raft up with someone already anchored there. You can also try anchoring on the back side of the tip, there is usually more room over there.

Anyone have space for one more if I can make it out on Thursday? 34' cruiser and I will probably tow a 22' searay if I can do it single handed.

Nevile

We are Moored 50' s of Kelsy Jean. I have 4 22' skiboats coming and going most of the time, See you all out there.
