Marina/Docking close to Jones Theater?

Can anyone tell me if there is a marina within walking distance (or fairly close) to Jones Beach Theater? I was hoping to spend a couple of days...Thanks!
 
There's one marina right by the Jones Beach Coast Guard station but I'm not sure if you can reserve and how many slips there are. Nothing else in the area will be within walking distance. Plenty of marinas in Freeport which isn't too far but you'll need to take a cab or drive to get to the theater.
 
I think they opened something there a couple years ago (or re-opened it). But I don't know what the rules are as far as who it's open to, etc.
 
Short beach is open to all, it is NYS park dept.. Last year I think they charged $7 for the day on the weekend but i do not think they allow overnight
 
Oh, it's probably like the Robert Moses dock then. If that's the case there's nowhere within walking distance of Jones Beach Theater that you can stay overnight. You can stay in Freeport and then will need a ride over.
 
Short Beach public docking area does not permit overnight docking.
 
Most people just anchor in Zach's Bay, dinghy ashore, and walk the beach to the theatre. If you get there before the weekend starts, you can usually tie up to a pole for safer docking.
