The house in Copiague is nice, the house in Lindy has much better property. 699k, they are on drugs ....

The Copiague house IMHO is head over heals to the Lindy house. But the little house in Lindy, I like the property .

Walter....The house in Copiague is REAL nice....and 100' of waterfront would work fine. The $699K is just the asking.....(I was at the open house and you can shave off some $$$ ) .....according to the realtor.

John.....That house on the way to the Anchorage...is directly across from SS3 M/M delivery center......its a great location & wide canal.

After looking at some of those ads, my house is starting to look better and better! I can't believe some of the asking prices on waterfront. Danno, what were those buildings on the other side of the canal in one of those houses???
 
We love our house and neighborhood.............just I wish I had a few extra feet............or a bow and stern thruster

The asking prices are not real........ Those buildings you saw on Dannos pictures are commercial buildings.

Crappy views but a real quiet section of town and deep water canal all the lots have 60' of bulkhead.

Don I just noticed this house in todays Newsday in Copiague harbor, at $749 it seems too good to be true given the size of the property and the water frontage. Do you know what that canal is like, deep water or is it a beach at low tide.

Danno, I haven't been down that canal in a while but from what I remember it's reasonably deep. There are some big boats (40'+) docked at the brokerage at the end of the canal. We don't have much of a tide swing in this area so you won't normally have an issue with a canal being a beach at low tide. On my canal I normally try to avoid coming and going at low tide, but my draft is about 4'4", a little more or less depending on how much fuel and water I have. When I had boats with a 3' draft I never had to worry.

There are lots of waterfront houses in this area and prices over $700k still seem high to me for the area. Will be interesting to see what they really go for.

Danno......... That's cheap for Copiague Harbor......and a great view too. Its ALL about the view!

That is a deep wide canal......and close to the bay. John's right......its the canal that leads to La Sala's Boat Yard.....(the old) Hidden Harbor Marina....and South Bay Yacht Brokerage. I don't think there are any " bad " waterfront properties in the Harbor.....its all deep.

Nice house too............
 
Taxes are real high on that Copaigue house!
 
My wife just told me about an article in today's Newsday that said while the housing market has slowed down, demand for waterfront property has not. I don't know if I believe that as the same houses appear in the paper each week.

Unfortunately for me, my business is in Brooklyn and my commute from Nassau is already bad so my options for waterfront property are limited.
