Yo gang! MTOA has Organized a trip from lake Worth anchorage for all cruising boats down to Marathon Key, about 2 weeks R.t. ....15 feb -26
I will join them while they are heading South from Boynton Beach down to those beautiful waters ...I prefer to drop"Da hook" as opposed to Marina life at those beaucoup prices of the real Yachtsmen expenses ...
We will carry aboard a full complement of adult liquid libations let alone of snacks....
Hope so of this cabal w3ill cruise along....

CAN also be reached on 2 meters WA2hnw

I just received information that the Convoy will be underway on schedule...
If Y'all can't join us let loose a blast on your horn as we pass by..
We will be flying the "Turtle" flag...

At Marathon, you use the mooring field in Boot Key Harbor. Kind of the best of both worlds IMO, and ultra cheap. Unless you have a very small boat, it ishard to find a place to anchor inside, and it is real schlep in the dinghy from the anchorage outside on the west end of Boot Key.
Sure wish we were there! Will have to take a weekend at Cape Lookout as our consolation, which ain't a bad second prize.

Well the Convoy has progressed ..We are now tied up at "Victors" in Jew fish Creek.. The Place has changed as would be expected but prices have a marked incress Diesel Fuel $4.00 A GALLON, BOOZE $5.OO A SHOT AND TIEING UP ON THE BULKHEAD $2.OO a foot,,,You would think you were in N,Y,C, But we all had fun...The German Food has not improved That much but is still edible and NOT bad !
****** The worst information received was that at MARATHON "Sombrero Resort" the Bar will be Closed while they fumigate the joint...
Oh the pain,of it all!

Vaca Key (Marathon) is a delight, all boater whether Sail or Power speak the same language... Enjoying themselves to the hilt and loads of Pot luck Dinners and get togethers Walking around here has been fun for me ..The last time down here was 8 years ago. Tomorrow we start our trip heading back North with stops at some wonderful anchorages thanks to "Skipper Bob" publications my issue is from 2000 and it is still up to date!
See Y'all

Great trip, looking back we met 25 boating couples who were cruising along for this Great Trip and get together w/ many "Pot luck" dinners from Lake Worth to Marathon loverly anchorages and fun Marinas...
Just returned from Cruising, now to relax and hoist up a Cold Adult libation and develop some Flix.....They are Planing a cruise to the Bahama for next month, sounds fantastic, looking forward to this one....
