Planning on a long weekend in beginning of October in MV. Not taking my boat so wondering if anyone could recommend a great waterfront hotel. Thanks so much.
 
Which town do you prefer ?
Edgartown, Oak Bluffs, Vineyard Haven ?
Have you been there before ?
They have great public transportation to move between towns very efficiently.

Are you at Haverstraw Marina ?
I was there yesterday looking at a 48 Horizon, Bella Brezza, do you know the boat ?
 
Never been there before so looking for recommendations. Wide open but want something with a water view and nice. Wife likes to walk around town and shop at local stores. Don't know the boat but I will see if I can get any info. Thanks.
 
I second the Summercamp suggestion. They are a chain owned by Lark properties and really understand customer service and features. We have stayed at a few of them throughout New England and have always been "wowed".
Oak bluffs is a fun town, most things within walking distance and one of the main hubs for the bus shuttle system. That is also where the ferries arrive. Lots of shopping, pubs, tourism stuff. Edgartown is a little more upscale but the stores seem to be changing frequently. Real estate and galleries are moving in ??
 
Oak Bluffs is the opposite of dry :) .

Summer Camp is a redo of the old Wesley Hotel, and they did an awesome job.

In Edgartown I would also recommend the Harbor View Hotel.
 
IF you wait a few weeks for the boats to come out I would take a ride as well. Once the boat comes out it's Corvette season:)

From his indented plans! I don't want to give up the first weekend in October. As it looks now October is so booked up with plans I will hardly get to use the boat at all.
 
Stayed at the Harbor View in Edgartown. Very nice and best town in my opinion. Nice shops and very good restaurants. Thanks for all the advice.
