Well, I got home and opened the mail to find the new issue of the magazine. What is this? The cover looks like picnic island.... wow it is picnic island. And at the very top I can see our boats home at Cape Harbour. So I open the magazine, and there is a picture of Cape Harbour, the home of our boat along with a nice story about Cape Coral and envirens. Very well done and fairly accurate. It is truly a boaters paradise. Current water temperature is 79.
Small world for sure.

dugs---so you no longer in NY? Or are you a snowbird?

Charlie, it doesn't matter since we can't fish for them anyway :((

FB, I moved from Ca to Fl, but my original home port was up in the Adirondacks of NY.
Believe me, fishing around here is paradise. No salmon, but everything else you can think of and pretty much year long. In the gulf, entering the gulf, estuaries, fresh water rivers.... it goes on and on.

Are they any good to eat? I usually find that cold water fish like salmon, halibut, cod and my favorite, striper, are what I to prefer to eat. Guess I could catch and release in the gulf's warmer waters.......

Dugs

Where in Cape Coral? We're off Surfside. Definitely boaters paradise. Once in a while we hang out a picnic island. Depending on the tide, the current can get strong.

We live nearby.. on Oasis. We keep the boat at Cape Harbour which solves a bunch of issues for me.The Meridian we kept at Tarpon Point. Yeah, we go out to Picnic Island too, but it seems as of late their are boaters who don't clean up after themselves. We also spend time at Useppa, Cayo Costa, Tween Waters, Pink Shell, Sannibel Harbor, etc etc. And of course we do the lunch trip to Parrot Key, What is the name of your boat? Did you go to the last Marine Max get together at Lovers Key? We spent a few hours anchored out in front before we circumnavigated Ft. Myers Beach. Yeah, this place is definitely a boaters paradise.... just too bad its salt water.
Our boat is 24 Sundeck named after my 6 yr old....JOYZILLA.

Dugs, No we were not at the Marine Max get together. The boat name is Miss N Mountains... My login. We exit to the river via the chiquita lock at Cape Harbour. Go right past you. I will keep a look out for JOYZILLA.

Why don't you guys take this discussion to the Florida Forum? This forum is for northern/central California. And sometimes we let southern California post.......[^]

FB, 30 yrs of the Delta, Folsom Lake, Oroville, Tahoe, etc does not go away. Don't get jealous, we will let you visit us here in "paradise". Oh, by the way, I usually make one annual trek back to the Delta and run into the oldsters like Steve etc.
So, we stay in touch.

Hey dugs, I don't mind at all that you keep in touch with us on the left coast! It is just that you and missnmountains seemed to be going off on Florida in a California forum!

BTW, missnmountians, I grew up in the Colorado Rocky's near Evergreen. Beautiful country!!!!
