It's time for bellows and all that maintenance stuff we outdrive owners dread. I asked my mechanic and he can't schedule it until after Memorial Day but I'd like to do it before I splash. Does anyone have a guy they trust to work on Mercruiser outdrives?

Chuck over at LaSala Boatyard in Copiague. Great guy and fantastic mechanic. He may be kind of busy now too though but it can’t hurt to swing by and ask him.

Thanks for the info. Same thing I'm hearing from most mechanics so far they're all booked. I'm happy for them guess,I'll wait until June. No big deal just was trying to get it done before splashing. Thanks again!

Yeah, the late Spring has everybody slammed. I'll second Chuck. I do my own work these days, but he and his son are great. Friendly, professional and very neat.

Any good mechanic is booked up because they lost a month because of the crappy weather. Just an FYI

I'm on two different mechanics schedules and I'll be happy if the boat goes in before Memorial Day but I'm not holding my breath. I could say the heck with it and put it in but it would have to come out in June when they can get to it. I'd rather just wait and put it in once. Thanks for the Lasala suggestion it's always good to have another option.

Where's the boat now? If you can ID a good mobile mechanic, they aren't limited by what aviation calls ramp space. Some shops have parking limitations for boats to be worked on and that extends waiting time.
