Boatcapt,

Nice to see you here. Not too many parties planned here though.

I know I recognized that name from somewhere.

I've never rafted up in Lake Sylvia. Is it as big as Lake Boca?

kinda long and skinny - can't imagine it being a huge gatherring but worth a shot.

Sounds like something to check out. Only two drawbacks to Lake Sylvia are (1) small boats towing skiers around the outer edge and the wakes they make, and (2) the tide is quite strong, so be sure to use a rope to the boat when swimming.

Any time you experience pesky water skiers who deny you of peaceful enjoyment of your boat
at Lake Sylvia, you have only to call the Marine Police who respond and stop them from
causing problems.

Watch out for the tide current, it can get wicked at times. Had to rescue a couple of swimmers that were getting sucked out of the lake once. Unless it's really blowing, that current will dictate your anchoring requirements.

It's a big enough lake to tie up 30+ boats. We've even gone stern to stern in there when necessary. There is talk of an overnight on Saturday with movies being shown on a big screen!

Many larger craft 50'-60' have anchored there, others have transited through after spending time on the Lake.
Draft should not be your concern BUT most important IS anchoring up for night in case of a rouge wind out of the
East that can slip your anchor and ruin a good nights sleep. Great area for fun and near some good watering holes to enjoy.

If you have any sort of draft, you want to hug the east side when entering the lake.

This is so true. The middle can be very shallow at low tide. I usually go straight until I clear the green marker before entering the lake, then I turn right and keep the boat as close as possible to the east side.

Well Folks how was it?
How many of y'all enjoyed yourselves on the Lake ?
Who showed up to party?
