Weather is looking better, sunny and 80's. Watchfire is at Bowline, lighting at 11:30PM on Sunday.

Who's going out???

What is this watchfire thing you speak of?

Last Sat night we were all alone in the pond.

Ben didn't you see the wood pile near the entrance on Saturday?

I will be there over the weekend. I have plan this Saturday during the day but I will be on board as much as possible the rest of the weekend.

Ben did you decide where you are going yet? If you are going to be local I see you there.

Hogan are you planning a big raft up as usual? How many boats do you expect? If I'm welcome maybe I will join you. But don't feel obligated it's alright my feelings would be hurt, much:)

I will be at the Watchfire lighting, try to get there every year.

Dave, not sure how many boats, but if you do come, make sure you have your bow and stern anchors ready to deploy.

I really need to pick up a stern anchor I borrowed one last year for the fireworks other then that I really have never used one.

Not to worry I will raft up with one or two others boats off my bow. See you there and remember don't drink too much in case the police ask you to move your boat:)

We haven't decided yet, but we having a family meeting tonight to figure it all out. The watchfire at Bowline sounds fun and if there's a big raft-up it sounds even more fun. I'm going to pitch this for Sun/Mon.

Dave- You have plenty of time to get a stern anchor for Sunday. Get'er done and let's raft-up with the group.

If all goes well I should be able to get an early start to the weekend tomorrow. Still not 100% sure of my plans but I know it involves lots of boating and I plan to spend Sunday night out on a hook baring any difficulties with tides and company. See you all on the water!

Sounds interesting, where do you guys anchor? in Haverstraw Cove?

We are doing the air show on Saturday, but still no plans for the rest of the weekend.

Well I only got to the boat for about an hour today just enough time to wash it for company tomorrow. I plan to spend the rest of the weekend on board.

Anybody get out today? How was the wind, it was kicking when I got to the boat.

Lots of white caps in NY harbor this afternoon. Ruined a planned overnight anchoring south of Liberty State Park. Of course everything has calmed down now...

Audrey was starting to get sick at dock it was so rough and she does usually get sick, not since we got the bigger boat. Tomorrow is another day. I plan to be at Bowline overnight.

Went to check out the airshow, yesterday. It was pretty foggy in the morning, ocean was a little rough, a couple of our friends didn't feel so good. Coming back was not much better, but at least the kids were sleeping.

I think we will head up to Bowline tonight. Maybe we'll see you guys there.

LadyTaz have you ever been to Bowline? if not you need to be very careful coming in. Rommer has posted the coordinates a couple of times to follow.

Ben are you going to be out there tonight?

I'm heading up to the boat in a few, I plan to go around the city with some guests then I will drop them back at port and head over to Bowline for the night.

We spent yesterday in Croton, rafted with about 6 other boats, it was gorgeous. Very flat water and not many boats. It was a great first day out.

I found a PDF on ActiveCaptain. It shows to stay to the south side of the inlet, until past the island (submerged at high tide). Is that still the best approach?

Btw. No, I have never been there.

Yes, that is pretty much the secret. When you get to the entrance you will see a church spire, we line up with that and steer towards it. You need to get fairly close to the land on the south side.

Sounds good, thanks for the info. I'll be heading up this afternoon, after I plug those coordinates in.
