NOT!!!!!

I was taking a nice slow cruise past Bear Mountain and all of a sudden out of nowhere a 40+ cat blows past me on Starboard at say 60 MPH and a second later a 35' speed boat blows by me on my port.

WTF is the matter with these A-holes. Yes the boats were cool and sounded pretty neat, but if I turned my wheel to port to avoid a log I would have gotten creamed by this ass. One of them was in my marina a month or so ago revving his engine for about 2 minutes, to make sure everyone knew he was cool. The funny thing is the guy in the cat is no kid, reminds me of the guy who bought it in LI a few weeks ago. Big wallet No Brains!

Look how close the guy to port was.

I remember that weekend when he was reving the motors, we were all at the dock hanging out I remember because my daughter was napping and woke her up. It's not even his boat but it is his dads boat. We all thought it was so cool NOT

Don't you look behind you and around you ??. To see where the other boats are at all times !!.

I didn't have to I could hear them. With a mile wide river why so close.

So did you stop be and say hello when you got back, I'm sure he was there they all leave from our marina. Loud is not the word. I think they believe we are all impressed by how loud they are. I have no problem with any of them however I do wish they would understand we are there to relax and enjoy ourselves and the noise is disturbing to many is not most.

We have the same issues here in Buffalo - I have a 39' trawler, cruising at 8 knots and every idiot with a Sea Ray or hot boat seems to be compelled to pass no more than 50 feet off my sides. This is on a stretch of river that is close to 3/4 of a mile wide. And if you have ever been in a trawler, you know what happens when you get hit with a 3 foot wake on your beam - ROCK AND ROLL time..

Ron:
You beat me to it. Trawlers get no respect. What I really hate is being passed by all the sailboats, but I digress. The intent of this post is a good one; people should give respect to others trying to enjoy the water. I don't see it happening anytime soon. That's why the very best boating places are those locations with the fewest people around. Sad commentary on ourselves I suppose.

Safe and Happy Boating!

Alot of those boats have silent choice exhaust but they never use them, they should have to use them when pulling into marina's
