Skipping work on Fri and heading for the Boat Show. Got a free ticket from a friend.
Probably go back on Sunday with my son to check out a flats boat that he is interested in.
Anyone going??

I wish I was going. Had an opportunity to crew on a 52' island packet from Tampa to Miami for the show, but had company until yesterday. :-(

Did not make the show on Friday but did spend a few hours there on Sunday. Lots of cool boats, liked the Parker 28' Piolet House. Looked at some flats boats. Hewes Red Fisher 18' is the one we like. Waiting for info on extras.
$41000.00 incl. Tax.
My son John ready to go with it.
Only thing I purchased was a hot dog and a beer.[:-grumpy]

$41,000.00 for an 18 footer? AYSM?

$41k for an 18 footer? you got to be kidding...i hope it's all carbon fiber at that price...

The Hewes is a very light, top of the line boat. Price is for a fully equipped boat, all the goodies that a flats fisherman wants.
E-Tec engine, Trolling motor, Carbon fiber push pole, tilt steering wheel, recessed stainless cleats, etc.
$41000.00 includes tax. I agree about the price being high, wouldn't spend that kind money on that type of boat myself, but wont mind fishing off of it in the Keys.:)
John looked at many less expensive boats but the Hewes is the one he wants. He is a hard worker and a great son, I wish him the best with his toys.

Joe - just south of you is a guy that builds katamaran flats fishing boats - they are amazing, look a bit like hydrofoil and can run 75 mph with a 250 outboard in 6 inches of water.....they are 100% fishing boats though. I can introduce you to the owner that does ALL of the work from mold to rigging....cool boat and guy.

O,
Thanks for info, I will tell my son to take a look. Ill call you later.
