Is the water warm enough and weather still fair to make a trip after FT Laud boat show to Key West for a week? Would like to snorkel off Marathon and have weather fair enough that waves arent 4-5 ft? Have 45ft and can naviate 4-5, just don't want to. Or is 1st week of Nov on the cusp of fronts coming thru and it's anyone's guess? Unfortunately can't play by ear. Need to plan.
Any advice appreciated.

you can snorkel and swim thru out winter... fronts usually start coming thru sometimes in november but the strong ones rarely show up till december. not a big issue in the keys anyway since winds are from the north. If it's a little too rough in Hawks channel, you can run inside down to islamorada (as long as you draw under 5') then run outside since winds are from the north you are protected by the keys. the inside is well marked, easy to navigate and more scenic.

weather permitting, make sure you stop at Key Largo Dry Rocks the Chirst of the Abyss statue, it's a nice snorkeling reef although often exposed to NE winds in winter.

Thanks much Pascal. Are there mooring balls at the Christ of the Abyss statue?

yes... on most sites in teh keys, you will find mooring balls to protect the reef.

Capt., that's a cool little island. Haven't heard of it before. Not sure it's for a couple of guys who want to throw back beers and oogle the waitress. (they use the word romantic and elegant a little too much for me). But a beautiful place none the less.

LOL, no, in your case I'd pass on Little Palm.

But I will suggest Boot Key Marina and Holiday Isle Marina. Definitely better "kick back a few" places. :-)

i called little palm last year before a charter, they wanted $800 a day for a slip! the guests passed.
