Miami to Watts Bar Lake, TN

It s not an RV style fridge it’s a full size whirlpool French door fridge / freezer, 8 years old. I ve been using a carpet blower on the days we ran on inverter without AC.

The freezer is fine so I doubt it s a compressor / cooling issue. Must be the damper or the sensor.

I bet it is the damper, just had same issue with my KitchenAid. Damper was stuck closed and kept freezing up. Replaced it myself - beer is cold again!

Day 14…. Midway Marina, Fulton Ms

I don’t think I have ever seen such a collection of derelicts in one space! The marina even has crash pumps and a well pump at the ready on the docks…

Should be one more day in the TennTom and then the Tennessee River. We ve been lucky with the locks so far, all four today were waiting for us. No delays.

Looks like you might hit the Alabama TN River TVA lakes over the weekend. Watch out for the Bass Fishing tournament folks, they run high speed and come at you from all directions. 😁 Goose Pond near Scotsboro always has tournaments running out of it.

Did you meet the manager/harbormaster in Columbus? I know who ran it 20 years ago, but can't remember his name.

I've also had problems with the defrost timer, if it has one. I think most of the newer units have the defrost function integrated on the control board.

That can be a problem too.

Just passed the third and final lock of the day, the BIG one, Jamie Whitten at 84’. Luck still holding, no delays.

About 40nm to the TN River then another 40 to Florence

We are enjoying your journey Pascal, thanks for taking us along.

We have been curious about the time required to raise the water at the locks, especially this last 84'er.

You are about to enter waters I've spent many hours on. It's going to be very interesting for me to see all the development that has occurred over the years.

It s pretty quick. I didn’t time it but maybe 10 minutes.

Day 16 is in the books… we delayed leaving Huntsville a little because of a big thunderstorm. Should be two more days!

I remember when Ditto Landing was a abandoned barge dock and warehouse and home to UA rowing team building. As a kid we used to swim and dive at the dock and the police would come and run us off every so often. Wow, look at it now!

Apparently it was the site where Andrew Jackson and Davy Crocket ferried troops across the river during the war of 1812.

Lot of history in that area. The river south of there, back to Decatur, will remain mostly undeveloped with Wheeler wildlife refuge and Redstone Arsenal owning the property on both sides. I spent a lot of time in that area and in the area above Guntersville Dam to the Tennessee state line. I'm really enjoying "riding" along with y'all on this trip! Thanks!

We love this run. Beautiful scenery and I understand that the next stretch to Chattanooga is even more beautiful

Also enjoying the cheap dockage… it s almost cheaper to dock than run the gen on the hook!

You will love what's coming up and then time on the river in the fall. At age 13 I spent 2 weeks one summer solo camping at Mink Creek which will be on your north bank right before the Goose Pond Colony development. There was nothing there back then except a tiny primitive campground without any facilities and only room for a couple of tents. I rented a wooden handmade jonboat and had a Champion direct drive 1.5 hp outboard that belong to a great uncle. I ate fish, potatoes, and some canned goods at everymeal and walked a mile to the property owners house for fresh drinking water. Took a bath every morning and night in the river. Maybe the best 2 weeks of my life! I still have the Champion and it still runs.

Went through the locks near Chattanooga twice. Once in a rental houseboat, second time in my boat. I agree the scenery is beautiful, we made the trip in the fall!

84' in 10 minutes.......amazing. That is a lot of moving water.
