The display panel on our Sharp microwave on our 350 Mariner (1998) has given up. It works find but no display. Are these repairable or should it be replaced? Looks difficult to remove, must have hidden screws.

Cheaper now to replace than repair. Look under the shelf it;s on for screw heads going up under it. Usually screwed to a board that is then mounted to the shelf to meek it stationary.

On our 1999 350 the wooden faceplate around the microwave just pulls off, held on by hidden clips. We just pulled off the surround, unscrewed the old MW, slipped in a new stainless one, plugged it in, and snapped the faceplate back on. Easy to center the new MW by clipping the wooden surround on and off to adjust the placement of the MW. EASIEST job yet on a boat!

As an aside, my microwave plugged in inside the cabinet. It was the only thing on that circuit. I added an extra GFCI outlet in the galley on that circuit. Now I don't have to as much stuff around to plug the coffee pot in the morning. Easy peasy!

Looks like replacement makes sense. Thanks for the removal advice, it sounds easy if ours is installed the same.
