Anyone know what is happening with water flows on these and debris? Save to boat? Thanks

I went out today to Riverboat Marina near the mouth of the Mokelumne. The river is high and running fast, but the water levels are not as high as I have seen in the recent past.

With levels as high as they are, though, I'd be concerned about debris. We lost some trees at the marina...no doubt there are new logs floating at or near the surface.

If boating in the river waters this time of year, slow down, keep a forward watch for debris and give any water fowl walking on water a wide berth!

Went up yesterday afternoon (we are at Willow Berm)and both rivers are running DIRTY, not too much debris that we could see. Tide was suppose to be coming in but Moke was running downstream. Hard to tell how much water is coming down...Sacromento River at Rio Vista is running fast with alot of floating debris

Our Harbor Master told us to watch out for snakes. Seems like he is finding a larger quantity of snakes than in the past.

So while you are watching out for logs, keep an eye out for Rattle Snakes, etc.

I've heard/read of snakes climbing into anchored or docked boats, especially if there are fish or fish bait onboard. Kind of scary!

Liz,

What do you use for bait when after those sishs. They can be the wiliest of creatures, I think they may be related to snipes. I've tried and tried but have never been able to successfully land a sish. LOL

Ahhh Liz, that just ain't fair ...... now you're making me look like the crazy one. I'm still after those sishs, no matter what you do!
