I posted this once before and one of my buds just thanked me .
If ur canvas has mold or actually any interior part of ur boat has mold check out Kanaberra gel. Google it . Simply open the container . Thats it . A few days / weeks later ull see it just disappear..... It will also prevent it from forming .... Pretty cool stuff

Rich, just remember it takesa bit to get going .

Dave, only difference in size i noticed was that it runs out sooner. Meaning the larger size just lasts longer.

Its cheap stuff and works great with no scrubbing . Cant beat that

Been using it for some time...eliminates odors too.
 
Any household uses for this stuff??
 
It's tea tree oil based. You can save yourself money by buying tea tree oil by the quart or gallon and taking a sponge sized Tupperware container, cutting some holes in the lid, putting a sponge soaked in the tea tree oil in it and snapping the lid on. From then on just refill it as necessary. You can adjust the dispersion of the oil by taping some of the holes shut if you need to. I put them in the A/C return air vents. That way the oil is dispersed not only through out the room but through the A/C ducts killing and preventing any mold from growing in the ducts or on the air handler coils.
 
I have always just used it full strength as it came in a gallon container.
 
It was a couple of years ago. Let me see if I can find the old link or order. It wasn't cheap. But neither are the gel blocks. It just worked out cheaper than the blocks in the long run.

I want to say it was like $100 or so a quart. Which sounds like a lot but I was only using a couple oz or so per sponge.

We had 12 or so air handlers on board. And even though I didn't put a sponge in every one it was still cheaper than using the blocks.

An 8oz Kanberra tub is around $50.

As you can see they are not cheap either. And as I recall the 1 liter blocks only lasted about 2 months if you were running your A/C 24/7. Gelair recommends you change them monthly! That adds up to big money real quick. Especially if you have 10, 20 or more air handlers like on a large boat.

That is one reason I switch to in duct anti-mold/bacteria systems like the one Dometic makes or the one from Guardian Air.
