Anyone have this system on their boat? I recently purchased a boat with this setup. Haven't used it yet but I think I'm going to like it.

Never heard of this system do you have a web link to it? I assume it's a waste treatment system?

My mistake,it is Galley Maid - galleymaid.com
Should have had a little more coffee before posting this morning. Probably explains the lack of responses.

Galley Maid makes good products. They aren't a high volume manufacturer, but their stuff is pretty well regarded in the industry.

I had three Galley Maid heads in my Chris Craft Constellation - two are now gone and the third is dead. They work well for about a year or so in live aboard service, then need rebuilding (bearings tighten up and the rubber "impellers" harden). Complete rebuild kit is $200+, and in my case the pumps were located in god awful locations. Finally they use about 1.5 gallons per flush (quick fill of holding tank) and pull about 20A when operating. In short, there are many newer electric heads that flush with less amps and lots less water... I'd plan on replacing, not fixing when they fail.

Hi Jim. Long time, no type!

I'm going to take Jim's comments as an opportunity to say how much I love my Raritan Marine Elegance head. About 1 pint per flush (for liquids, and "light" other loads) and not very many amps. It's been the best addition to my boat so far!

What surprised me is the boat has no holding tanks. The system discharges overboard. It is a legal system. The big plus is there are no odors in the boat at all.

So you don't just have a Galley Maid head, but also the Type I treatment device?

Galley Maid makes a Type I MSD, called the "Delta" system:

Most of their stuff (but not all) is used on larger boats, 65 feet plus. Delaware Jim is correct about the size and power draw of their pumps - and also their cost - they ain't cheap!
Their technology is somewhat dated; there are much more efficient head systems available these days. But overall they have a pretty good reputation in the industry.

Yes, It has the Delta system. I haven't used it yet. I did send an email to the site and they responded within a day.
