Moorings?

We're contemplating our first trip to Greenport next Wednesday. Can someone tell me if there are any transit moorings available. If there is, who could I call to secure one.

They have a town dock. Ive never seen moorings. Great place... good resturants.

Moorings are available on shelter island and then the ferry takes you to greenport for a buck.

Why would u moor in shelter .... call a cab... take a ferry.... then do it again to come back??

Some people love moorings. Personally its not for me. My friend has a sailboat and he always moors, but then again he has no A/C, so why bother. I can only see a mooring for partying. For overnighting a slip is the way to go.

Moorings are a very nice alternative to anchoring out. You get peace of mind knowing you are not dragging. That said, if I was there to visit Greenport, I like a slip.
