First of all before you get too irrated with me, better to anwser my rookie questions than to have me drag into your boat somewhere. I am subscribing to the bigger is better theory on the anchor. I am also going an all chain rode.
My boat is A 45' sea ray 34,000 lbs. My intent is to go with a 60# plow, (most anchoring will be in Bahamas)
Question 1) Has anyone heard of Defender.com,
They sell anchors far less than any boat store I could find, Is the manufacturer of the anchor important, or is a plow a plow.
Question 2) Why is a Fortress 55 only weighing in at 36lbs. Do they measure not by actual weight but by surface area or hold potential.
Question 30) Can anyone out there recommend an ABCs book for "how to anchor if X happens" or if there is not one, Pascal could you write one.
