Yesterday, I spoke to the manager at Eastport Marina about the channel and the inlet, even though I'm not going to be doing any boating this season. (That's a story for another time.) Anyway, according to him, the east cut and west cut are clear, though not dredged. When going to the west cut from the west, watch the first green bouy. You need to stay north of it, but even then, watch out for increased shoaling. Otherwise, you should be clear all the way around. The bay itself, according to him, is clear and clean. But, being Moriches Bay, watch for water disappearing quickly. Hy
