Hi Peter B. Mr. Moderator,
I have a few suggestions....being a frequent reader I have scene your dedicated responses and would like to make a few suggestions.
It appears to me that you might misunderstand the capabilities of a few Carver owners (like myself.) Just because we might be able to maneuver a boat across a body of water does not mean we are capable of putting in pictures and filling out forms etc. to add to this forum.
Here is my suggestion for those of us just to darn computer illiterate to contribute with dignity and honor.
Designate an email address for us to send pics etc. to be added to the forum by the moderator or their assistant.I can do that. A picture is worth a thousand words and will make this forum the best and most interesting it can be. This in turn will attract more members and a Carver forum second to none.
Speaking for myself of coarse, I now have pictures of our boat and would like to update the imformation provided and add the pictures.
At your convienence please contact me and I could send you the pictures if this is satisfactory.
I hope I have not spoken out of turn and this proves to be helpfull and generate more enthusiasm.
Thanks Bob 1984 Santa Cruz Hatchet Bay Eleuthera Bahamas 350 Mercruiser Boat name "Maybe Baby"

Bob FYI if you have pix on your pc it is easy. Join photobucket.com for free. That's where you will store your pictures so that others can see them if you post the link to the pix to allow viewing. After you follow their download instructions and get the pix on photobucket you have to link the picture on photobucket to wherever you want it to be seen. To do that you just click on the photobucket "direct link line" that will appear under your picture and paste that url from photobucket into your BE post like this

img]http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i116/tacdp/breakers0038.jpg[/img

but add an [ before the first img and an ] after the last img. The result on BE will look like this:

breakers0038.jpg

If you right click on anybody's pix the select properties you will see what the photobucket url looks like.
Try it and see, there are lots of secrets located here to perform great mysteries of posting on BE. The secret handshake and private messages however are only available to members who are admitted to the exclusive enclave of NBR.

Nice response Bruce. Bob, I can understand not knowing how to post the pictures. Photobucket is very simple to use. Once you get an account set up, start a thread and put in 1 picture. If it does not come out right, try something a little different. Feel free to post in the Tampa Bay forum to practice, I can delete any mistakes you make there.

Ken and Bruce....is there water on your planet???Did you drink all my Boones Farm Apple wine??? OK I have signed up with Photobucket and I have a hundred pics on "MY Pictures" on my PC.....now what????
Am I close???How do I send the pics I want to, to photobucket??? Bob

On the top right side of photobucket is browse button. Browse in the "My pictures" , then what ever folder you have the pictures in. Highlight the picture you want to upload and then click on the "open" button then click on the "upload" button.

Ken

Oh, I gave up on the Boones Farm years ago. The hangover was not worth it.

Ken....I hope you live in California so you are 3 hours behind me. OK I now have 3 pics I put in photobucket. Now how do I send them....I need to show someone even if they dont want to look. Bob

Ok, you see the photos in photo bucket, left click at the bottom of the photo where it says: IMG Code
When you click on it, a yellow box comes up and says "copied"
then in the post on boatered, right click and paste.
Then hit submit reply.

Ken...I now see you are in Fla....its guys like me, that make guys like you, look smart. OK I will try and get some pics out to the world....I wanted to put them in Peters request for participation of older Carvers so I will see what I can do. It will probably take a dozen people to clean up this forum when I finish with it.
I could have changed a big block and stern drive in less time than this.
Talk to ya tomorrow THANKS Bob Keep em Floatin

Ken I left click img code and NO YELLOW box comes up...thats it for tonight I need to get back to the nursing home and take all my meds before I use this computer for an anchor. Thank you and will try again after work tomorrow....a day of work is easier that this.
Bob

mud didnt say that you need to paste the link in between to img /img codes as I said above.

LOL, sorry I wasn't able to chime in earlier on this thread but I was upstate working on my OWN Carver! Thanks, guys for the suggestions on photobucket (that's the service I use). I hope some of our ROs can take advantage of all the good advice...

If Bob or anyone is still stuck, then I would be happy to post your pictures for you. The only thing I'm not sure of is whether I should go ahead and put my personal email up here for all to see or should I request someone to send me a PM or email from BoaterEd first and respond to that contact individually (Bruce, Kenny, etc, your suggestions???)...

To send me either a PM or an email through BoaterEd, just click on my name which appears to the left of this post, and click on the button that says "Click to send an email." The only trouble is you can't attach a photograph that way. But if anyone wants to contact me that way and give me your personal email directly, I'll send you mine in return while we get this procedure sorted out...

Pete, if you want to put up an email account, make a special one like "carverowners at yahoo/hotmail/gmail, etc." That way your personal email is safe.
I don't mind helping someone out, but I would rather take extra time and help them learn how to do it. It would have been easy to have the pictures emailed to me and then post them, but next week when Bob wanted to put up more pictures, he would be in the same position. Once he figures it out, and he will, he can post them anytime he needs to.
I will be at work tomorrow, so maybe you and Bruce can get him finished up before I get home. If not I will be online about 6 PM.

Ken

Good evening Gentleman,
I hope your day was a good one.
Here is where I stand with this photobucket thing.
I signed up and have loaded 3 pics to my album...period. I left click on IMG and the only thing that happens is it gets highlighted in blue.
Thats all for now perhaps a step by step menu is in order as there must be at least one other person that is a computer dummy and then you would already be prepared for this. AND just maybe there are others out there not willing to even try this???? Thanks Bob

hello Ken I left clicked on IMG and had minimize this thread and came to start typing and NOTHING.
How about this...what if I go to MY PICTURES and right click on the pic and this brings up the option to send the picture to an email receipient????

Pete, we got it, you can clean this thread up anyway you want.
