Mystic River Question

I will be staying at Brewers Mystic for a few days and was wondering if there is anyplace in the marina area that I can anchor in short term.

Brewers has a noon check in and I plan on being in the area earlier than that to take advantage of early morning water conditions.

I'll probably get to the marina area between 10 and 11 and would like to have a backup plan in case the marine can't get me in right away.

Check if you can stay at the fuel dock until they can get you in. Do you stay at another Brewer yard? We got in early last year and they had us on the fuel dock for an hour or so.
 
If the slip is open, they'll probably let you take it before noon. Give them a call when you get close.

Thats what I'm hoping but I want a back up plan just in case.

Thanks for the input. I'm not a regular Brewers customer.

I'm hoping the slip is already empty and it does not matter.
 
I would call them the afternoon before. They usually have a good idea by them what slip you will be using and who is currently there. There are lots of places in Fishers Island Sound you could stop. Napatree beach at Watch Hill is one of the best around. It takes a little while to get in there, but worth the trip. Fishers Island also has a couple of harbors, but I have no personal knowledge of them.
 
Drop you anchor for a couple of hours on the east side of Ram Island at the mouth of the river....fairly well protected, nice spot to relax for a bit.
