I think Marine Specialists in Bohemia does a/c.

Ditto that , also Gen-sets and Refrigerators

Mike is always my first call but they can't get to the boat for 2 weeks. I'm looking to see if there is anyone else out there thats good and can get to the boat sooner.

If there good they are busy, if they can come right away, beware. This, IMHO, is the nature of the business hear in the NE.

I think this is crap honestly (although I think you are 100% correct). I truly wonder how people who cruise the coast and end up in a marina for some emergency repair get assistance without issue? My slip neighbor had a boat he bought last year (used) and the AC didn't work upon receipt. He brought it to the attention of the broker who was supposed to send a repair company to fix it. Promise upon promise and the commpany never showed. The season ended (still not fixed), he got the boat winterized at another marina, and the AC was scheduled to be fixed come spring time (new company to repair). Spring time came and AC was never fixed. Boat was delivered without AC being fixed. Promise upon promise with another company and they still never showed. Finally I felt so bad for the guy because his family could't enjoy the boat at night without AC, I tore the whole unit out and repaired it for him. What a horrible industry up here in the AC game.

Finding good quality help is an issue. NO one wants to get dirty. Everybody expects a paycheck for doing nothing ... Or will get paid to stay home !

Ya think !!!! that quote will go over so many heads here, unless you own a business, you won't get what Rob is saying.

Don, I think the fact the Maytag repair man was always sitting around, had nothing to do with Maytag. I think it's more likely he was a union worker. lol
Walter, are you implying that everyone here are the primadonna slackers to whom Rob is referring. lol
I am only joking but totally agree with Rob's sentiment. Being in a service field, I often wonder, as a boat owner, if GC'ing all our own work is more conducive to getting our boats repaired (usually cheaper) or hiring a shop, to co-ordinate it, is better (with the obvious markup for their efforts). Hmmm, just something that i ponder.
