I bought a 2006 Sea Ray 240 Sundeck, which has a porta-potty with a pump out (but no holding tank). The potty is now "full" and needs to be pumped out. Other than hiring the marina's pumping service, is there a pump kit that I could buy to take care of this disgusting job without making a complete mess? Any help would be appreciated!

Hmmm, a little lacking in detail, but I'll try.

You may be describing a portable with an integral holding tank. These usually have a way to remove the ( full ) tank, so it can be carried to the dumping location.

If you want to pump it, you can make a "homebrew, DIY" pumpout device using a mascerator pump and hoses...

I don't recall if I saw the "homebrew, DIY" here or on another site. It worked great for the guy. He pumped straight into the cleanout trap at his home.

Sorry, the set up is fairly simple. It is a portable toilet mounted inside a small bathroom located behind the front port bow seat (standard deck boat design). There is no holding tank other than the small waste storage compartment in the bottom of the potty. There is no removeable tank to take out and dump. Connected to the potty is a large PVC hose that runs up to a standard pump out connector/screw on cap marked "Waste." I was hoping that there is a product on the market that I could use to do my own pump out without a lot of mess.

Yes, you can DIy, but AFAIK, there is no inexpensive kit... Todd makes the "Waste Caddy", but you should be able to make a similar device using hoses and a 12v mascerator/pump.

You can likely get the Todd Waste Caddy from Boatfix.com for a fairly reasonable price, but I don't have a link for it...

A decent shopvac and an adaptor should work well. Dump waste into the nearest toilet.

There has to be a way, however, to detach the holding portion of your 'porta potty' to remove from boat and dump it in the nearest toilet.

No nearby pumpout stations?

You may find the marina's service is worth every penny. There are jobs to DIY, and there are jobs not to.

I have a 1988 SeaRay 230 that has a porta potti and a deck pump out. For whatever reason, I was never able to get it to pumpout through the deck fitting, I always had to remove the holding tank under the potti and dump it. I talked with one of the mobile pumpout guys and he told me that he always has problems with those setups since it doesn't generate the suction needed.
