I'm hauling out tomorrow for some maintenance and I'm planning to install a new fishfinder. I'm on an inland lake, and I'd like to give Les my business. Any recommendations from Boatfix's current offerings? (BTW, I'm cheap!) I understand y'all love Lowarance, does that go for Eagle, too?

Second question. I'm planning to relocate the current ff from the flybridge to the lower helm. Will there be any issues with two transducers on the transom? Also, I'll need 30 feet or so of line from the transducer to the flybridge. Is that too much to hope for in a standard off-the-shelf setup?

Thanks in advance!

The better sounders give a choice of transducers. A guy who fishes shallow waters needs wide transducers. People fishing 100 to 500 in salt water need narrow transducers. The best I've seen in the Furuno units. Though, Lowrance and Garmin are making good stuff too. Find one that is physically the right size for your boat dash.
