Hey everyone!
Im new to posting...Right after I post im ordering my anchor (for this board)... however im not new to reading all the great posts in the South Florida section. Well after about 3 months of thinking... me and my soon to be wife (fiance Jamie) have decided to take the plunge after finding a rather decent deal on a boat we liked. We have been looking and looking all over Florida. We had even offered on other boats even engine surveyed a boat in Lauderdale. Turned out we finally found a boat we liked. It turned out to be a 2001 Larson Cabrio 254 which is just under 26 feet with a Volvo 5.7 DP drive. We live in Boynton Beach and are currently about to take delivery on the boat Friday 5/26/06. We had to make two trips all the way to Sarasota where the boat was lift kept! One to view and test drive the second to do a full survey on the boat. Things turned out good with a few minor repairs needed however nothing major. So we gave it the ok. We haggled pretty good and received the boat almost 10k less then the NADA retail price so we felt good about the whole deal.
Anyways the next situation has been our wild dry dockage search. We have looked everywhere in Palm Beach and Broward Counties... our final canidates have been Logerhead in Lantana, Freedom Marine in Deerfield Beach, and American Offshore in Dania Beach. We have visited I think every single marina and are looking for some options such as engine flushed for us if possible and under 350 if possible. We even went to the riviera beach marina and they quote us a different price every single time we show up (its a clown show). They havent returned calls for a month. Anyways if anyone has a reccomendation for dockage at a great price or a dock with a lift in their backyard that they would give us a good deal on let us know!!!
The final question is I want to have a Fixed mount VHF with antenna/ gps with chartplotted/ depth finder-fishfinder all installed on this boat since it does not have any. Im good with electronics but installing them on a boat I have no experience. If someone could recomend a installer I would greatly appreciate it!
The least I can do is try to attach some pics of us and of the boat! Thanks everyone!
