I would just like to say hello to everyone on this forum. The wife and I have just purchased an 87 Santego 2767. We are going to be bring it over to our slip this weekend. I am sure I will be asking many questions about boats but wanted to introduct myself. My first boat was a 16 Foot Sea Ray JetBoat so this is quite an upgrade.

Welcome aboard. I'm jealous, you are putting your in a slip I have had mine out for 3 weeks and had 6" of snow on it this weekend. this was our second season and we loved it.

Welcome and congrats on the Carver. I just took mine to the storage facility yesterday. I will pull it sometime this week (I also work there). She is being stored inside (maybe heated) so I can do ,more updating/upgrading to her.

From one new Carver owner to another...welcome!

Picked ours up a month ago but unfortunately it's not going into the water until Spring.

Right now it's in the back yard ready to be wrapped up for the Winter. I do go sit in it quite a bit. The Admiral thinks I'm nuts.

I bought my first offshore fishing boat in late August to get a good deal.
I coudn't fish her for 3 months due to bad weather, and I am off work for
2 weeks a month.
It sux to have a new toy and not be able to play with it.
It's like getting married and not being able to play with your new wife for a long time.

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately being in New York it will be pulled out of the water shortly. It is crappy to have a new toy and only be able to use it one time this season. Oh well that's why I got such a smoking deal on the boat.

Hello, and welcome aboard. My condolences on your new boat purchase... JUST KIDDING! Obviously we're all a pretty dedicated bunch around here. Good luck with the boat, and please don't hesitate to post questions or comments here on BoaterEd. There's a lot of good people here to associate with...

Congrats on the big jump. I'm sure you'll enjoy the new ride. I wonder what you'll trading for next year? It never stops.

welcome we have the same boat I guess I like the head room in the Santego the flybridge I am not sure if I would every get another one
New canvas top this past week and a used swim platform last week due to a storm which broke a rope causing the platform to self distruct on the dock Oh well all part of keeping it in great shape

CONGRATS on your new cave (that's what the admiral calls ours - "my cave").

Maybe you can't "officially" play with it as you might like to. HOWEVER - Winter is the best time to remove, rip and replace what you don't want to sacrifice time to do while you enjoy the water during the short summer. I call it "therapy". I am sure you'll get the hang of it and will be telling us alllllllllllll about it soon.
