Hi all! Thought some here would like to see my new frame and setup for the cockpit bench seat in my 1988 Santego 30. I got the idea looking at the ad for a sistership, and when my seatback disintegrated at the end of the season, I talked to a couple of local fabricators and went from there.
I had to modify the seat bottom and back to accomdate the new frame, but it is really really sturdy and still comfortable and functional. Now, I just have to give a good scrubbing to the fabric to make it shine.
In a related topic, I had to rebuild the bench bottom in the flybridge as the wood base rotted out. Between these two seats, I must have yanked about 1000 staples!
Enjoy the pictures. Comments welcome.
