Had a little talk with the new dock master in HM this mornings looks like things are going to change for good.
Wish her good luck and hopefully smooth and easy start.

Allen,
This will be a welcome to the marina and hopefully additional family function will follow to include kids. By the way, did you get her name ?

Her name is Cynthia, she is great and actually walk the docks.

I also washed the back of your small boat. Lots of duck poop.

What happened to your old dockmaster?

Dont want to post rumors, the fact is that she is gone, they are looking for a new GM, I submitted my resume and resigned from Shleppers.

Thanks for washing the duck crap off and thanks for providing her name.

Bob you may remember her since she worked in the office a few years ago. Cynthia is very nice....

Bob I was at the marina last night and the ducks returned not sure what they love about your small boat? You may want to pick up Wee Wee pads.

Mary Lou used to be walking the docks ALL the time!! She ran that place like it was nothing, no effort. The good old days!

I have already seen positive changes! Transients are now met at the dock by dockhands they are no longer left to fend for themselves. The docks have been cleaner I have also had an easier time finding a cart when needed.
So far things are great I hope it continues!

It's about time they fixed up that dump!

I just stayed at 4 different marinas I have never been to and it was VERY helpful to have a dock hand meet you. Mainly to show where the slip really is and two to grab a line. They also offered to assist with electric, lines, etc. Plus, it's your best chance of earning a few extra bucks tip as a marina employee.

All of the Brewer's Marina's are great for that level of service. That is what it sounds like the new management at HM wants to offer.

I wasn't complaining before! But the fact that they are trying/planning to make things even better sounds great to me!!
Being I wasn't a transient it really didn't bother me that they didn't send dock hand to help find the slip or aid in setting up power and water.
I pleased to see these changes and look forward to any other improvements as long as they don't feel the need to raise the prices!

Cant imagine they would raise prices. Dock hands used to always come out to meet transients, & regulars too. If they dont do things like that, what is their purpose? Didnt know they were not doing that anymore. What were thay doing? Just getting ice etc?

Mostly just collecting the carts that were on the dock.. They also always offered to take the loaded carts down to your boat, and would deliver ice if requested...They are now spending much more time on the docks and picking things up....

We have a dock boy who delivers ice, takes garbage, brings carts to the boat and helps us in and out of our slips. Nice to see HM is finally providing similar services.
