Anyone make reservations for opening night yet?

Boy that sure looks like a classy place. Sorry I boat too far away to enjoy your nice restaurant. I'll be found at low rent places like Mariner's, Ship to Shore, the Steel House, and/or Rosita's [:-mischievous] ...

You mean you'll go to places that actually have finished walls?

They were working on Easter Sunday as well. Seems like a fairly small crew thou. Definitely rooting for them!

"You mean you'll go to places that actually have finished walls? "

Yeah, our cans of spray paint work better that way!!!

Who needs walls and roof, all we need is beer and a barbeque and we could have a great cook out there.

I just hope they improve the docking for the restaurant! I remember how worried i was about my boat the last time i docked there.

I've never used the Haverstraw restaurant dock with the boat but I've walked down it many times with Jake. The dock looked fine to me, what issues did you see?

Sure you're not thinking of the docks just south of there for Civile's? Now those are some interesting docks and navigating around the rocks can be fun!

Civile's is supposed to have new docks this year according to their Boating on the Hudson magazine advertisement. Haverstraw's docks can't be any worse than Cold Springs or Newburg's outside dock.

Certainly agree with you on the Newburg docks John. Between the waves, wakes and INCREDIBLY fast current, Newburg has some amazing action going on. At least there is plenty of room so you can navigate the conditions fairly easily.

I've never had a problem with Haverstraw docks. I'm very happy to see it open as it's the closest bar/restaurant to the CYC.

Anyone have a recent update on the restaurant at Haverstraw?

Moving along nicely Art but the opening Memorial day target is def. in jeopardy.

I was down at Haverstraw this weekend and the word on the docks is that they hope to be open in July.

That's a shame. That area deserves some good waterfront dining. If you look at what Newburg has done over the last several years, it's amazing. I can't wait to see what they do in Poughkeepsie.

BUT

So we got launched yesterday, and after we got in and settled at the dock, we dropped the dink and shot over to the Steel House for the combo appi and a pizza at a table outside. It was like a summer Sunday afternoon! Awesome.
Now all I have to do is pray that the reason the port engine would not hit WOT was because the filter was slimed.

Drove by Haverstraw today, from the water it looks like they are really moving along. All the glass is in, should be a great view from the upstairs.
