new inlets on Long Island

Please explain what we are supposed to be looking at.

zoom in like you would with google maps and see pictures of the coast after sandy
 
Old inlet is hard to keep closed.

Though the barrier beaches are important to Long Island, one has to question why nature keeps opening inlets at the same place. Going to be interesting to see what happens this winter with storms and how the landscape changes more or corrects.

After this storm, I have a new respect for weather.

I also want to say that though I normally find most weather forecasters highly inaccurate on day to day weather, they did a fantastic job on calling this one and warning people well ahead of the storm. Had I listened to them and ran my boat to block island, it would be safe! My bad!
 
Couldn't have called this one. You had the boat hauled and it was pretty high up there.....not much more you could have done......Block "could" have been hit harder too....

I got friggin lucky.....period.....
