Took the course and passed the test in July sometime. Finally got the permanent plastic ID card from NJ State Police yesterday. About seven months later. Not bad, I guess, for the bureaucrats in New Jersey.

Thats par for the course. Anywhere from 6 months to a year. Been that way for a LONG time.

However if you lose your card they do get you a replacement with a few days. I was really amazed by that!

Took the test last March and still haven't seen the cards yet......

Perhaps you didn't pass it...

Funny, they grade the tests on the spot, even Jake and Hanna passed the test.

Still no cards yet....

The guy who gave our course said he had done it so many times that he didn't even need the answer sheet template to grade the tests. When I brought mine up, he looked at it for a second and said, "You got them all right," which I seriously doubted, but didn't argue.

Does NJ give you a temporary certificate at the time you take the course??? The guy that does the NY one at our boat show gives you something that you can use at the close of the course. I have no idea how it works for NJ...

When we took the course many years ago, (was required for PWC use in NJ), we received a pink copy of the certificate application signed by the course giver. Was a flimsy piece of paper that he recommended getting laminated because, "it will be quite a while before you get the final card from the state police". He was right and it seems it still is that way!
