You got it guys , thanks for the reminder, saw a few scary pieces of lumber last week, but you guys already know how careful you have to be on our river, be safe and have fun also look forward to saying hi to you guys this weekend.
I was a victim of those rocks last season. Not fun. It forced me to learn how to change both my props in a foot of mud across from west point though. i chaulked it up to earning a stripe or 2.
Waterford has a steam boat meet the weekend before July 4. Also the Tug Boat Roundup in September.
C'mon down to Coeymans and have a bite at Yanni's Too. It is a great spot. Call on the radio for instructions on how to come into the harbor and for docking.
The HR Islands are another great spot. We go down there quite a bit. The docks do fill up quick but there are always spots to anchor close to shore or beach your boat if it is small enough. We plan on doing some camping there again this year for sure.
Hope you have a great weekend! Enjoy the new boat!
Or, just a bit farther south (1 mile, west side) is my homeport of shady harbor. Boat house restaraunt not bad. A bit further south is a large peninsula on the west side where you can go around and anchor (called "the hook"). Here you can see nesting bald eagles and their juveniles fishing and frolicking. You cant beat that! Bring binoculars. We plan to anchor around the hook on Sunday overnight. Should be beautiful this weekend.
