Anyone have any confrontations with the New York Water Taxi's" since they started week day commuter service to Haverstraw?

I'll probably be making some runs up there soon to get checked out on the route and vessel.

Some of the captains complained about skinny water and debris when running in the dark. they said that there are good landmarks to use as ranges to line up on and once you go in a few times it's not so bad.

Are you referring to the new service from Haverstraw to Yonkers to Manhattan?

The Hudson is extremely easy to navigate from Haverstraw to the tip of Manhattan. It is well marked. The only skinny water is between the TZ and the Piermont pier, on the western shore and for a couple of miles south of the pier. Other than that, you can go pretty much anywhere.

There is always debris after heavy rains, otherwise, just the occasional flotsam and jetsom.

It's way to shallow for water taxis and ferries. They should stay down in the NYC area. No more wakes are needed! ;)
