Hi all,
I'm relatively new to this forum, and new to boating ownership - but not new to boats at all... Grew up mostly in Massapequa (Harbor Green) and every other person had a boat there. My mother and her fiancee were boat owners, but they sold it a while back. Now its my turn, and I need to dock this mother!
It's a 1984 26' Wellcraft Aftcabin 260 8'6" beam w/ 30A shore power, water, and holding tanks. Looking for a locale somewhere in the Bay Shore area that would provide power, water, and pump out.
Reason I pick Bay Shore is because I live in S. Setauket and would like something not TOO far west, but where I can still head west (ala Hemlock Cove) if I wanted in the boat without using a gajillion gallons of gas. Plus, I like to fish, and its not too far from Robert Moses/Captree area - where I LOVE to go fishing.
Frills aren't necessary, but aren't deterred if they make sense (like, I don't need a pool or a gym ala Oakdale yacht Club, but a Ship's store/ Bait and tackle shop would be nice as well as a finger slip).
I've looked at a few:
Seaborn Marina - Bayshore
Capt Bill's - Bayshore - (Down the block from Seaborn)
Greenscreek - W. Sayville
Capt Bills was $85/ft - includes water, metered power, and has big-a$$ restaurant...lots of parking too.
Apr 1-Nov 15
Seaborne 90/ft - short waiting list, but prob can get in there, includes water and power (metered)
no pump out though... Apr 1-Nov 1 I think
Greenscreek was $125/ft, but included haul out, winter storage, powerwashing after haul out, springizing (NOT winterizing), spring launch, and (what impressed me most) gated entry w/keypad for security.

Does anyone have any thoughts or have dealt with these Marinas? Is there anywhere else that someone can recommend? Thanks in advance...
