Hello,

I was on Boaterd a couple years ago when I lived in Philly. Been living in Boynton Beach for a few years and it's time to get another boat. Getting a 22 Pro-Line Walk with 200 Mercury Saltwater Optimax. I have never "trailer boated" before but am going to give it a shot to save the sick money to keep it in a marina.

I live in the Chapel Hill section of Boynton Beach, not far from Delray Beach. Can anyone give me any pointers? Where are the best boat ramps? Is it true it's impossible to get into a boat ramp on a weekend down here? How is the ICW for cruising? Is Boynton Inlet a good one? I've been through it in a 40 foot fishing boat, but never a 22 footer.

Any pointers and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It's a very good one for polishing your props!

Local knowledge is very important for Boynton. You'd best get someone who knows it to show you around.
 
Welcome to Boynton Beach John,
Good point,as the tide can rip through the Inlet.. If you follow out the other boats you will not have any problems. After a few times you will get the lay of the Inlet and then master it.
There is a park that just North of Boynton Beach that has a ramp and parking for you to use..Boat Club Park 742-6225 call them for info.

Welcome, I just moved to Delray beach From Pembroke Pines this week.
I have not been boating yet in the area. I have not gone further northa than Lake Boca.
SO let me know if you find any cool areas or marinas....
 
If you're close to Delray there's also a good ramp in south Delray....just a couple of blocks north of Linton on Federal Highway northbound...
 
Thanks all. I checked out the ramp in Boynton on Federal Hwy. and it's great. Plenty of parking and nice, easy ramps. I guess I should withhold that comment for after I try to actually float the boat and get it back on the trailer. Doesn't look too difficult.
