We were asked to pay $20 for docking at the Newburgh town docks on yesterday (Sunday 7/17/16). The dock master ensured me of a 10% discount off my Billy Joe's lunch. I said no thanks and left... Has anyone been asked to pay $20. It didn't sit well with me, and that is the only reason for bringing this matter up to the blog

They have been doing that for the past couple of years.

Yes in fact I have the 10% coupon still we forgot to use it:(

$20 is not a big deal considering the overall cost of the day out!

Maybe the Marina is not owned by the restaurant and wants to re-coup some of its operational costs to let you dock there?

I had a great day Saturday exploring potential hangouts.....gave my buddy the choice of hit Newburgh or LaMarina and we would stop on way back.

He chose LaMarina...had lunch there...interesting spot, worth the visit.
Stopped in Yonkers, tied up under the "transient dockage" sign. The gate was locked!! that stunk!
Next stop Dobbs Ferry, went to half moon and the train station now has a restaurant, very nice, "Hudson Social".
Dobbs has nice transient docks enough for about six boats depending on size, the water was deep...worth going back.
Tarrytown (WI) next then Haverstraw,,,the resort.

We had a blast!!! Definitely check out Dobbs Ferry.

LaMarina is in Harlem! Dykman street!

Between the Spuyten Duyvil railroad bridge and GW bridge....very clean, lively, loud, exciting.
Worth the trip! Be careful if you go on the inside, there are submerged rocks so stick close to the finger docks as the signs suggest.
