Sneaking out of work tomorrow to check out the Newport show, anyone going?

I may even venture onto a few sailboats to see how the other half lives.

Not going to be able to make it this year. But please come back with a full report. I hope the attendance is good. Weather for weekend looks good. Have a great time.

Ended up going Saturday (no wife, no kid in tow) and had a nice time talking to several builders and sales people that I have met thoughout the years.

Not much different from previous years as far as boats and equipment.

I like to look at boats that I would not normally consider to get ideas, but I tend to spend most of my time near the "downeast" type boats.

One boat that jumped out at me was a 38' Hunt designed express built by the Crosby yard in MA. The boat was everything I would have wanted in an express (except it had gas engines???), great layout, beautiful boat.

Did you see the 38' Shelter Island Runabout for $ 585K ? Whoa,,,,,,,,,, If you like wooden boats, thats the one.
