After flushing toliet there is a fair amount of water left in toliet. I haven't had that previously. Also seems that there may be a leak at the lower gasket. Hard to Change?? It is an electric toliet. Looks like a few things to take off to get to that gasket.

You didn't tell us what brand/model head you have (not toilet).
Anyway, most brands have re-build parts kits available at your favorite marine store.
Chances are, get the kit and replace the parts that come with it, and you will be up and flushing in no time. It is a DIY kind of job.

Before we can give you any sort of intelligent answer, we'll need to know the make and model of the toilet (head). There are a lot of them out there, and they each operate a little differently from one another.

what's a "toliet"??

seriously, the heads of my boat (VFs) always have water left after a flush...

That would make it a PHEII; replace the joker valve (#C253) and the flapper valve (#1228CW), especially the joker valve. The two valves work in concert with one another, to direct the flow out of the bowl, then into and out of, the toilet's pump. But the joker valve requires replacing more often than the flapper valve.

Got a rebuild kit. replaced the O rings flapper and joker valve. The rubber washer on top of the piston just doesn't seat well so while pumping some water will squirt out. Not sure what to do about that. Any suggestions Vic

Replace the piston shaft seal and lube the shaft. And make sure the shaft isn't scored or corroded.
