Last Wednesday my wife and I were joined by another couple for a cruise from Belmar, NJ up the Hudson to Haverstraw. Really nice ride - very little river debris despite the full moon.

Docked up at the marina on the end of silver dock - took a 6-8pm ride further up past West Point to Bannerman's Island. After returning to the marina we enjoyed a really nice dinner at the restaurant there. Fortunately we missed most of the bad weather.

Got up Thursday morning to grey skies - weatherman really got his days mixed up. Left Haverstraw around 11am and made it back to port in Belmar in just under 4 hours. Seas were as flat as could be.

Great trip - friends took the pictures, so I'll have to wait to receive them before I post them.

Most of the boaters doing the loop have told us that the Hudson has the best scenery. Glad you got to enjoy it also! But we like the restaurants and fuel prices in Jersey better!

Yeah, fuel prices were a bit higher than I had hoped - $2.899 for diesel vs $2.389 back at our home port.

The restaurant at the marina was very good though - it had been closed due to a fire the last time we were there. The food was quite good and it was a bit surprising (in a good way) that they had live music on a Wednesday evening. The Thai style mussels were out of this world!!!
