Working on a carver with 220 crusader engines the port motor no longer starts get spark from coil but not throught the distributor, have replaced the ignightor, I know it's not the rotor or ballast resistor, next I plan on checking the tach wire to the helm, any other suggestions?

I suggest asking this on the engines forum. It is an engine issue, not a Carver issue.

Does the boat have dead man switches?
If so check the port side.

If you are getting a good blue spark at the coil the only remaining path is the cap, rotor, wires and plugs.

Dead man switches is that the same as perko switches? If so they are on. Thanks. Yes there is good spark at the end of the coil wire. Is not passing throug to the plug wires. Was just not sure if the primary or secondary side of the coil might have something to do with the passing through to the ignitor, to make that fail. Thanks for the help. Cap, rotor and plug wires it is.
