Hi I have a 32 Carver Convertable that I just documented through the CG (Bank requirement). A requirement is to put the ON some place permanently affixed so that if it is altered you cold tell. Has anyone done this, how did you affix it and if you have a 32 where did you put it?

The easiest way to comply is to get vinyl stick on numbers and just put a layer of glass/resin over them. Takes 5 minutes... The glass will be transparent and make it permanent

Where? Anywhere you want as long as it s a structural part of the boat like the hull, a bulkhead etc. engine rooms often have insulation and stuff hanging on the bulkheads but the anchor locker is often a good spot

Put it anywhere you want. I've had 2 boats that had it in the bilge. One was a wood boat that had numbers carved into a support beam. The other boat had the numbers carved into a board and the board was epoxied to one of the stringers.
my current boat has vinyl letters on the hull interior underneath the V berth and they are coated with either clear epoxy or varnish.
You can put the letters just about anywhere you want. just follow directions...3" block letters and if they are removed or changed, it would be obvious that they were altered.

Great idea with the vinyl sticker and resin. simple, quick, easy and cheap! And I thought everything on a boat was expensive!
Thanks

I documented our new boat as well. Just remember that you still need to get a vessel validation sticker from your state. It costs the same as a regular registration. Renews yearly.

Depends on the state. Not all require it.

and not all states are annual, some are two year renewals now.
