1982 Carver 3007 Aft Cabin:
In the process of replacing port side gas deck fill, I removed the main salon interior side panel for access and discovered that the original insulation that was glued to the back side of the panel had turned to a granular like substance piled up on the plywood floor that extends under the panels. This material was moist and was causing the plywood to become moist as well. I vacuumed out the area and dried the plywood and it is still OK.
I found the same condition on the starboard side as well.
Thought I would mention what I found, this could be an easy place for dry rot to set in as it is not often the main salon side panels are removed.
